The toils of the Mad Soaper
Gone are the days of using lye made from wood ashes, rendered animal fats and stirring with a wooden spoon for the entire day to make a "good" soap.
Today's soap have come a long way baby!
Soapmaking has survived the bad rap from the old crude primitive ingredients, the chemicals introduced during war rationing, and the mass produced cheaply made products that have dried our skin out and burnt us with cheap lathering chemicals.
Soap has gone back to it's basic roots, but now quality handmade soaps are made from choice oils and natural ingredients, they are swirled, french milled, funneled, cold processed, hot processed, oven processed, made with herbs, fine flowers, cosmetic minerals and whatever the mad soaper can get their hands on. They last much longer than their commercially made counterparts, and they will not dry your skin out because soap made naturally produces it's own glycerin.
The soaps available on order in our catalogue WILL differ slightly from bar to bar, and if you order the same fragrance next year, it will probably come in a different colour or design, there will be a new picture posted.
It's just the way it is.....handmade
Ingredients on our fragranced soap include a soponified blend of oils including coconut, cocoabutter, cottonseed, palm, sunflower, rice bran, olive, castor bean. It also includes small amounts of local raw beeswax, natural colouring (including mineral oxides, micas, clays or ground flowers and herbs) and fragrance oil or essential oil depending on type of bar. Exact ingredients are on each individually wrapped and labelled bar.
